Lover’s Tempo and Carbonzero Mark Five-Year Partnership

March 18, 2026

Lover’s Tempo is proud to announce their fifth consecutive year partnering with Carbonzero on their greenhouse gas (GHG) measurement and carbon neutrality initiatives.

Each year since 2021, Lover’s Tempo has worked with Carbonzero to complete a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Inventory of the company’s operations, capturing the climate impact of the company’s operating locations, shipping and importing, corporate travel, and even the footprint of the raw jewelry materials that comprise Lover’s Tempo collections.

Holistic Approach to Business Sustainability

Lover’s Tempo’s greenhouse gas measurement and carbon neutrality initiative focuses on creating a complete account of the company’s emissions - not just a subset of the company’s operations. This ensures that every notable emissions-generating activity is accounted for and quantified, with Lover’s Tempo then procuring third-party verified carbon offsets in the equivalent of emissions that the business produces each year.

Beyond the company’s climate-related initiatives, Lover’s Tempo is a certified B-Corp, Certified Living Wage Employer, and participates actively in its local communities, having given back to nearly two dozen community and national level organizations since the company’s founding.

“Five years into our carbon neutrality journey, we continue to learn new ways to give consideration for the environment when crafting Lover’s Tempo jewelry for our customers,” says Leslie Hoolaeff, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer at Lover’s Tempo. “Doing this while supporting carbon offset projects like the Great Bear Forest Carbon Project right here in British Columbia is something our whole team gets behind every year.”

The Great Bear Forest Carbon Project is Canada’s first Indigenous-owned carbon offset initiative and the largest forestry project of its kind. The project is verified under British Columbia's Forest Carbon Offset Protocol (FCOP) and recognized by Verra, the global standard setter for carbon offset projects.

"Working with the Lover’s Tempo team each year is always a highlight of our client calendar,” says Michaela Sellick, Lead GHG Analyst, at Carbonzero, “The team’s authentic commitment to the causes they care about shines through everything they do, and we’re happy to once again be partnering with their team.”

Looking ahead in 2026, the Lover’s Tempo team continues to expand its collection of new arrivals and best sellers as it maintains its continued role as a sustainability leader in the Canadian jewellery landscape.

About Lover’s Tempo

Lover's Tempo founder Elaine Kim Smith's love story with jewelry started with a booth at a maker's market at her university in Vancouver, Canada. Her dad helped her set it up, complete with twinkle lights and an immersive experience hosted by Elaine. When you entered her booth, you got lost in her world. Every detail was considered. She hung your jacket and bags so you could feel free to try things on and take a moment to delight in her creations.

Over a decade later, Elaine's ethos of beautiful design, magnetic experiences and a little romance has carried on as the Lover's Tempo team grew to include her visionary business partner, Leslie, and over 500 cherished retailers who carry the brand worldwide.

Today, their tight-knit team of creative women spend their days finding new ways to spark delight from their studio in Vancouver, Canada.
