Jeff Calvert is a mechanical engineer with twenty years’ C-level experience in businesses focussed on climate change, sustainability and First Nations economic development.

In 2008, Jeff was CEO & founder of Borealis Offsets, one of the first companies in Canada to focus exclusively on forest carbon project development. Jeff followed this with roles as CFO of ERA Carbon Offsets and Offsetters, Canadian pioneers in GHG emissions reduction projects and CEO of Prairie Paper, a company focussed on developing technology to make paper from waste wheat straw.

For the five years leading to the Gitxaała Enterprises’ acquisition of Carbonzero, Jeff worked in economic development with a number of First Nations on BC’s Coast, including Gitxaała.

Jeff is technically trained as a papermaker and holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from Royal Roads University. He has two adult children and lives in Galt, Ontario.
