Patriotes School Board Energy Conservation Project (CSP)
The Commission scolaire des Patriotes (CSP) provides educational services to the population of 21 municipalities by equipping and supporting a network of 68 schools and training centers welcoming 33,833 students.
Carbon offset proceeds from the project are reinvested by the school board into greenhouse emission reduction projects and climate change education and programs.
Located in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, Quebec, the Patriotes School Board Energy Conservation Project (CSP) is publicly listed on the CSA CleanProjects Registry and has been 3rd party verified under ISO-14064-2 by Carbon Quantum Inc. The project falls under the category of ‘‘energy efficiency’’ and “conservation” and is characterized as a grouped project with various project activities implemented at different locations.
GHG emission reductions result from lower energy consumption. The various set of energy efficiency measures implemented at each building reduces emissions associated with the use of any type of energy compared to the baseline scenario by reducing total energy use. In particular, GHG emissions related to the combustion of natural gas are being reduced thanks to more efficient boilers, advanced control system and other energy conservation measures.
In addition to striving to constantly improve the energy performance of its schools, the CSP is taking up the challenge of reducing the ecological footprint of its travel. It invests in charging EV stations and electric vehicles for service employees.
